Operation Deadstick

Operation Deadstick is to seize and secure two vital bridges, Pegasus Bridge and Horsa Bridge, over the Caen Canal and Orne River in Normandy, France. Capturing these bridges intact is essential to prevent German Armoured reinforcements from counterattacking and to ensure the success of the Allied advance inland.

The Operation has been divided into three stages:

Stage One

You will land in Landing zone X in the early hours of the 6th of June. Your first task as D Company will be to swiftly capture the Pegasus Bridge and make sure any explosive charges that are attached to the bridge are to be dealt with by the engineers.

A Company will land at Landing zone Y and will attack the river bridge. They will dig straight away and await enemy counter attacks from the East.

Stage Two

D Company will move westward and capture Mairie de Benouville and any German fortifications in its vicinity. If possible they are to probe the enemy in La Port before the Germans can launch a counterattack.

Stage Three

Dig in and wait for reinforcements from SWORD Beach.

The 192nd Panzergrenadier Regiment is situated only a few kilometres westward from your AO, you should have an hour before they launch any organised attack on your positions.

Company briefing will provide much more detailed information. Be sure you are loaded in by 19:45 CET.

Additional Notes

LIMITED LIVES - THERE WILL BE A SET NUMBER OF RESPAWNS THAT WILL VARY DEPENDING ON ATTENDANCE.

You will be able to receive more respawn tickets if you complete special tasks in stage 2. Reinsert will be disabled at one point during the op, respawns will be then set to unlimited. Those that will spawn will receive special information/orders.

Owning Spearhead DLC is not mandatory, it is only needed to load a map that uses its assets.

Radios: No SRs and very limited LRs

KAT has been removed for this operation.

Op is divided into 3 parts

• Briefing Phase will take place in England
• Initial landing and assault on the Pegasus bridge (Stage 1)
• Scouting of POIs & Defence of the bridge (Stage 2 & 3)

Arsenals will be provided at the start of each part
