Purge Protocol

Super Earth scientists were conducting cutting-edge research into Terminid durability and genetic weaknesses at a Xenobiology Research Lab on Crimsica.

Purge Protocol

The facility suffered a catastrophic containment failure, unleashing hyper-resilient Terminids alongside new flying specimen into the wild. These new mutations spread fast endangering democracy on the planet and overrunning the planet’s S.E.A.F. garrison before we could evacuate critical citizens in the outbreak’s area – namely the researchers working inside the facility. However, it’s possible some of them found shelter and while no contact has been established, it is of utmost importance to rescue our loyal citizens and gather any intel about the situation that we might come upon.

The outbreak must be contained and data from the lab must be recovered. This mission is classified as HIGH PRIORITY for the security of Super Earth.

Objectives

1) Liberate New Bastion

    • You will be dropping in the vicinity of New Bastion, the largest city near the lab, where many of its personnel lived, but was overrun right at the start of the outbreak. While we expect heavy bug presence, it is possible that some survivors or data pods remain within the ruins and could prove useful to our righteous cause.
    • Secure the city, sweep government buildings and citizen shelters for any information related to the outbreak. If survivors remain, extract them AT ANY COST.

2) Destroy the spore spewers

    • The research facility is now concealed by a dense fog, produced by Spore Spewers. The fog appears to be much thicker than on other planets, which has rendered Eagle air support ineffective in the lab’s vicinity. In addition we do NOT want to risk hitting the research lab itself with big ordnance as it could easily seal off our only entrance, so this task should ONLY be done by helldivers on the ground.
    • You are to locate and eliminate every Spore Spewer contaminating the area of the lab. If they are similarly resilient to the bugs - as our experts presume, small arms will be ineffective. Thus you’ll have to make do with rocket launchers and explosives.

3) Breach the lab and recover data

    • The lab’s underground complex is the epicenter of the terminid infestation. It has become the main bug nest of the planet.
    • Your primary objective is to reach the control room and extract the facility’s data logs. These logs may provide insight into what lead to the outbreak, allowing us to ensure that democratic values are safe on ALL planets. More importantly, the lab housed classified research, which must be extracted for further study.

4) Initiate facility purge protocols

    • The underground hive cannot be allowed to remain intact. Once all mission-critical data is secured, activate the self-destruct sequence from the lab’s control room. Additional Hellbombs may be provided to be planted in critical structural points in case the self-destruct mechanism fails or is unreachable.

Secondary Objectives

    • Seal Terminid Nests: Bug holes don't close themselves.
    • Rearm planetary artillery: Secure and reactivate anti-terminid emplacements to support our mission.
    • Recover lost experimental assets: Studying terminids wasn’t the scientists’ only job. The nearby S.E.A.F. weapon testing grounds may hold interesting weaponry for your use.

Additional Notes

  • Previous attempts at sending in four Helldivers at a time (as is right and proper) have failed. So, against all traditions, we will be sending a whole platoon this time. Make the bugs regret they ever broke out of that facility!.

Super Earth is counting on you, Helldivers.
Make us proud.
