Operation Tidal III
The return to Greece / No way, we have an op?!

Disclaimer:
Operation Tidal III and its associated campaigns are an ahistorical retelling of the modern world, recognised as part of the Trident-verse. The timeline was initially set several calendar years ahead of real world but prior to the events of Arma 3. The outbreak of conflicts has been based on real information and potential scenarios monitored and prepared for by real nations. The presence of war in Europe and the invasion of Ukraine is a regrettable truth that came to be. The tensions between Greece and Turkey are a real-world issue and any prejudice or opinions expressed during this campaign are fictional. I have the greatest respect for the difficulties faced via both nations.
Situation
After the cease fire in Europe rolled into an unannounced peace. Many of NATO’s nations returned to a sleepy-eyed stance of rebuilding. The territorial gains of the Russians almost entirely withdrawn to a pre-war stance. The military actions of Spain and Trident IBG in Greece have long been forgotten. The deposed government removed, and the reformed Republic of Greece has entered an era of economic growth. As the great nations of the world turn once more to handling internal issues; the decision to recall many of the Spanish garrisons is put into effect. With the chain loosened the emboldened nation of Greece begins to flex it’s might. As more and more Greek offshore vessels begin entering Turkish controlled waters, the Turkish government issues a formal request for Greece to demilitarise and lower the tensions in an area which is gradually becoming more contest. As these calls fall on deaf ears the suspicion of deniable operators being at play is echoed throughout Turkish command. As both nations warships begin to stalk one another, the order for ground forces to begin active patrolling is issued.
Area
Multiple islands and costal settlements are considered to be under potential threat from Greek vessels. Bozcaada is no different. Ground forces must provide a significant deterrent across the island via using force multiply strategies to ensure the safeguarding of Turkish territory. Troops will operate both across the open countryside and establish fixed positions around and within relevant settlements to cast a significant presence.
Mission
The main task of Turkish ground forces is to identify and deter potential deniable operatives from performing sabotage operations and to repel any potential landing attempts made via official Republic of Greece forces. The island’s mainline infantry are to do deploy in MRAPs to perform effective patrols and establish potential blocking positions to prevent suspected hostiles from exiting controlled areas.
In addition to its standard garrison force, Bozcaada is currently home to an element of naval snipers who have been on training exercises prior to overseas deployment. As an affective reconnaissance unit, the islands forces have been directed they may make use of them as they deemed necessary. They are perfect for setting up long distance observation before more heavily equipped elements can enter a province or close off a significant road which are suspected to be in use for saboteurs.
Equipment
Standard ground forces are to deploy with an effective fireteam load outs with in armed MRAPs ready to neutralise any soft skin elements or infantry. In addition to several standard fire teams a medical element has been attached, these may deploy as one unit and establish a Forward Treatment Position or divide across appropriate transport to provide aid to multiple teams as necessary.
Naval recon operatives have been attached to the standard contingent and are able to deploy rapidly around the island in land drovers or may make use of a UH-60 which has been requisitioned from the island’s local airbase. High powered rifles with high magnification optics have been provided to allow sniper spotter teams to not only identify but also engage potential threats before they develop.
