Operation Just Cause - Phase 3

Joint CDF-US Task force makes their final assault into the Cascadian Capital of Maruko, in one final effort to defeat the CPLF.

Operation Just Cause - Phase 3

"The liberation of Cascadia is close, the CPLF has gathered within the Cascadian capital of Maruko. The fate of Cascadia will be determined by whoever's flag flies at the end of the day".

Situation

With the Capital surrounded on Land, the CPLF has since consolidated their forces in the capital. The fractured Cascadian People's Militia has split between abandoning a unified front and disappearing North, or setting up with the CPM inside of Maruko.

With time only increasing the CPLF's ability to prepare their defences, it has now been determined the optimal time for the 3rd phase of the operation. Cascadian forces have made some significant between operation times. Having captured the town of San Isabel and Tucos proper. The only main stronghold remaining for the CPLF being the Capital of Maruko, as well as some minor garrisons and strongholds around the area.

Mission

The main objectives of this mission are as follows.

  1. Capture the Capital city of Maruko, clearing it out of CPLF aligned forces.
  2. Eliminate the political leadership of the CPLF, who have bunkered down into the presidential palace.
  3. Eliminate the last major CPLF garrison, at the Maruko airbase.

The capital has been divided into a series of strategic sectors to aid with clearing out the city of hostiles. It is advised each sector is cleared out individually to ensure that no flanking manoeuvres can be performed.

Execution

The Liberation force is to be stationed out of the recently captured Haciendos Airfield. Moving through the main.

Map of the general AO

Moving through Tucos proper, CPLF forces have setup blocking forces between us and Maruko. This may slow down the initial entrance to the city. However, should not be a significant problem later on.

Upon entrance to the city, your task will be to clear out each of the sectors within the city. This is split along the MSR that forms the central avenue of the capital.

The CPLF have set up various fighting positions within the city, arming themselves with heavy fortifications, AA positions, and light artillery support. Locating some of these positions will be difficult in the urban environment.

Air support should also consider the appearance of mobile mortar teams, as well as heavier positions scattered within the AO. Should any such units be located, they should be eliminated as required.

Another point of note is that Paramilitary forces have been noted for increased use of Drones and IEDs against recon forces, as well as on frontline positions. It is highly likely that they are operating with support from the CPLF.

Finally, the bridge towards the north of Maruko should be preserved where possible, as this will prevent isolation of the last possible stronghold positioned away from Maruko.

The destruction of critical infrastructure to the CPLF should also be considered. Radio towers and similar infrastructure should hopefully limit support from Greystone PMC, who have taken on the position of providing heavier support thanks to additional aid from China. It is likely that they will be operating more advanced assets, as well as from a remote island.

Friendly Assets

Friendly assets are mostly unchanged compared to the last operation. With alternate transport options if desired. As well as this, helicopter crews have been offered littlebirds for lighter logistics purposes and additional firepower where needed.
The following assets will be available for the final conventional phase of the operation.

Intelligence Reports

CPLF

The CPLF has simply hunkered down for the inevitable invasion of Maruko. They will pose the main form of resistance towards the liberation force within Maruko.
They appear to be preparing for a last stand. Particularly at the presidential palace and the Maruko airbase.

The CPLF are using heavy weapons installations and some vehicular assets. Their air force is slightly limited, but has recently gained support from Greystone PMC. This suggests that they may have some more advanced assets coming from offshore.

CPM

The CPM have slightly centralised since phase 2. Opting to operate within the slums of Maruko, as well as surrounding woodland environments. They have begun using IEDs and increased drone usage compared to previous operations. Be prepared for them to appear in larger numbers.

Greystone PMC

Greystone PMC have hunkered down as part of the security force at the presidential palace. They have also taken on the role of providing more advanced avenues of support to the CPLF.
It is possible this includes more advanced armour, air support and special forces.

Identification Guides

Ensure that all operational personnel are familiar with the appearance and weapon selection of personnel on both sides of the Civil War. In the interests of preventing friendly fire incidents and ensuring that hostiles are eliminated efficiently.

It should be noted that vehicles used by both sides will be difficult to distinguish due to extreme similarities.

Rules of Engagement

Most Civilians have escaped from the capital during the preparation phase of the war. This means that there is a lower concern for civilian casualties. This is especially the case as a large amount of those still within the city have taken up arms for the CPLF's cause.

As such there are very few civilians within the AO, although it is hard to determine where they are. If civilians are found it is advised to evacuate them from the area.

ROE is to fire on openly armed personnel only. Heavy assets should avoid striking buildings blindly to reduce chances of civilian casualties. However, the CDF have confirmed that the humanitarian corridor that was opened at San Isabel.
