SPECIAL MODPACK FOR THIS OP,
ATTACHED AT THE END OF THE BRIEF.

The combined offensive against the CPLF has seen great success with the island of Selva Elpidia completely liberated by the end of the first Phase. The civil war continues, with the Joint US-Cascadian task force moving north of the island for a new offensive, marking the beginning of the second phase of the conflict.

US and Cascadian forces now aim to move North, preparing to capture key objectives necessary for the commencement of the Operations third phase. This phase intends to build upon our logistical capability within Cascadia, while eliminating key assets to the CPLF and its allies in the region.

This offensive aims to achieve three primary goals:

  1. Capture the Haciendos airbase from the CPLF Occupying forces. Liberating the towns of Fernando, Calixo and Haciendos in the process.

  1. Capture the industrial zone north of Tucos, while liberating the town of Guayucca in the process.

  1. Investigate Greystone activity within Lab 101 and report back on any findings.

OTHER OBJECTIVES

High command has noticed that the allocated CPLF governor for Selva Elpidia is stationed at the Villa due south of Haciendos airfield. Governor Alvera is believed to be in connection with an unknown asset going by 'Crimson'. Command has issued the order to capture the governor so that more details about this asset can be determined.

The port town of San Isabel is of interest to command due to it's proximity and sightlines to the capital. If the settlement is captured in this phase of operation, then initial reconnaissance of the capital can be maintained, allowing for closer monitoring of assets and activity within the city.

Operational Assets + Logistics

The main fighting force, consisting of 1 infantry platoon, 2 force recon teams, and a tank platoon will be operating from the converted FOB Shed, due east of Morada. All ground personnel will operate from this base, including the resupply of new vehicles. There is a landing pad based at FOB Shed to facilitate helicopter resupply.

It should be noted that due to issues relating to armour deployment, the decision has been made to run with M1A1 models for the remainder of the campaign. Intelligence suggests that these models will be sufficient for the level of enemy armour used during this operation.

Intelligence Reports

Below are the most up to date intelligence reports regarding the hostile forces within the Cascadian Republic. This information is to be considered accurate to the release of this briefing, noting that vigilance should be maintained in the event that any information changes.

Cascadian People's Liberation Front (CPLF)

Cascadian People's Liberation Front (CPLF) have appeared to have hunkered down. Improving fortification and increasing their use of static equipment. We also believe that they have managed to get their fleet of captured Centurion tanks ready for full deployment. It is expected to see more of these vehicles on the front lines.

The Chinese government has also begun supplying CPLF personnel with MANPAD launchers in an attempt to counter airborne assets. Alongside a larger roll out of AA equipment, it is believed that the CPLF now maintains a moderate air defence network.

Greystone PMC

Meanwhile, the Chinese backed Greystone PMC group has consolidated their efforts after losing a significant base of operations in the south. It is believed that they are now focussed on maintaining security over two sites.
The first is a large Villa belonging to the CPLF's planned governor of Selva Elpidia, Pietro Alvera.

The second is the immense security detail surrounding Research Lab 101. Whatever research is being conducted within this facility is of upmost concern to the Chinese government. With them sending additional assets to be used by Greystone PMC. Expect armoured assets and the possibility of an enhanced airborne response to any incursions into the facility.

Cascadian People's Militia (CPM)

The Cascadian People's Militia has experienced a major disorganisation since the death of significant members of leadership within the first phase of Operation Just Cause.
Reports of infighting within the ranks of the CPM, most notably in the form of potential offshoot organisations have begun to emerge. For the most part this has crippled the CPM's capability to act as an organised fighting force. It is still believed some cells maintain communications with the CPLF, and thus can still call on their support.
Expect fewer numbers and disorganised, sporadic attacks. Do not disregard as a threat.

Personnel Identification Guides

Ensure that all operational personnel are familiar with the appearance and weapon selection of personnel on both sides of the Civil War. In the interests of preventing friendly fire incidents and ensuring that hostiles are eliminated efficiently.

It should be noted that vehicles used by both sides will be difficult to distinguish due to extreme similarities.

Cascadian Defence Force

Cascadian Defence Force Personnel are equipped with a notably darker woodland camouflage, using a digital pattern.

Rules of Engagement

It is believed that civilians will be present within the AO, as such care should be taken to avoid civilian casualties.
HOWEVER CPM personnel have been noted to hide as civilians in an attempt to force civilian casualties. This was especially present against Cascadian Defence Force personnel during phase 1.

ROE should be reserved to obviously armed personnel, or those who are deemed an obvious threat to personnel.
